The Vapors

The Vapors are a unit of the Sentinels, a defensive organization of the Valley. The Sentinels have several sperate units with secret bases along the borders of the mountains. Each unit consists of around ???100???? men, trained to be quick, agile, stealthy, and the best with both sword and bow. They scout the hostile borders of the Valley, ready to strike decisively on a Raiding party, attempting to either completely anihilate it, or lessen the odds for the towns people. Sentinals never strike open battle, but attack, then dissapear, however many times necessary for the job to satisfy their Captain.

The Captain of a Snetinel unit is chosen by popular vote of the men in that unit. The Captain holds his possition until either he is reported to have forsaken his mandate, or until voted out the same way as he was voted in.

Most units give themselves a name to seperate them from other units and to give them a rallying call and a sense of brotherhood. The Vapors, The Hawks, The Lancers, The Bolts, to name a few. A person who wished to join the Sentinels had first to go to Calamos and present himself to the King of the city. King Selivant of Calamos created the Sentinals and established their mandate, and since then, the king of Calamos has always been the commander of the Sentinels, though he is not allowed to change the original mandate, and therefore King Selivant insured the safety of how the Sentinals were used, no matter who was ruling the city at the time.

The life of a Snetinel was secluded save for the men he fought with, and it was dangerous, and therefore, it wasn't very often that a man came wishing to be a Sentinel. That isn't to say that the men of the Valley didn't want to defend their homeland, but merely that most men of the Valley had family and friends that would be loath to part.

The Vapors are the nothernmost unit of Sentinels, their headquaters being based very near Brookton. Their Captain is a man named Freydor Malif, a man who has no care for his enemies lives, no matter what their race.
